Discover Viral Marketing Ideas

What is viral marketing and why should you care?  The term viral marketing is all about getting people to share the content that is developed.  Is your content shareable?  If you are not thinking about viral marketing and its power, you might want to start giving it some of your time.

Here are six ideas to help you start your viral marketing campaign:

1.Purchase the branding rights to a viral E-book. Allow people to give away your free E-book to their visitors. Then, their visitors will also give it away. This will just continue to spread your ad all over the Internet.

The name of the game is content, content, content.  The content is constantly flowing and people go online to search for answers.  Some of the information searchers want to get some quick info to improve their situation.  Are they going to want to spend money for each piece of content?  No.  Some information might be given away for free to start off the relationship.  Think about having info products that are low cost or free.

2.If you have the ability to set up a forum or other bulletin board, you really have a great tool. Allow people to use your online discussion board for their own website. Some people don't have one. Just include your banner ad at the top of the board.

The web is all about connections and people like sharing.  The old days of just consuming info is in the past.  Going online and discussing topics is the new way that information travels.  A forum is a great place for people to ask and answer questions.  Just like the old classroom days, some people might want to learn, but they could be afraid to ask.  With the internet and discussion forums, people can communicate through the web and post information and get responses.  Who knows how big a forum can grow?

3.Do you have a knack for web design? Create some templates, graphics, etc. and upload them to your site. Then, allow people to give away your free web design graphics, fonts, templates, etc. Just include your ad on them or require people to link directly to your web site. Make sure that you include a link back to your site in the copyright notice and require them to keep your copyright notice in tact.

Lots of people may be on the hunt for free items.  Just take the free stock photos for example.  Everybody does not want to spend money all the time for their projects.  They could easily search online for free items that are good enough.  Are there going to be more free lookers than the people ready to spend money?  The free shoppers might still turn into an opportunity to earn.  Starting off with free and progressing up to paid is a known business model.  Start thinking about how you can turn free into paid products and services.

4.Write an E-book. Allow people to place an advertisement in your free E-book if, in exchange, they give away the E-book to their web visitors or E-zine subscribers.

Information. Information. Information.  Ebooks are hot and some people would love to write a book.  Creating something of value like an ebook is a powerful tool for marketing and more.  People might look differently at a person that has a book versus one that does not.  Becoming an ebook author takes it to another level.  Start taking a look at all the things that you know and how you could come up with an ebook around the subject.  You never know what kinds of new products you could create.

5.Write articles that pertain to your product or service. Allow people to reprint your articles on their website, in their E-zine, newsletter, magazine or E-books. Include your resource box and the option for article reprints at the bottom of each article.

There are so many niches and groups on the web.  Taking your content and getting it in front of different audiences is the name of the game.  You might have great content and getting it exposed in other areas is where the leverage kicks in.  You might only have a certain reach, but you never know who knows who.  Getting your content shared into other circles and groups just means more opportunity.

6.You can easily find products on the Internet that will sell you a license allowing you to distribute the product free of charge to other people. Look for those products that provide "branding rights". That is where you can include your own name, website, and contact information.

Expanding your products is a good thing.  Having more products and services is a great idea.  Just think about the times you went into a store and they didn't have a large selection.  You might have needed to go to another store to find something that you wanted.  Adding in more products just opens the door for building a relationship.  Continue to look for more items and products to expand your reach with potential clients and customers as lead generators.
